My Background & Experience
Former Teacher
-
Taught middle school and high school English in smaller NH communities, guest taught in the country of Belize.
-
Learned firsthand the challenges that face our dedicated educators to this day, from overcoming limited resources to dealing with inefficient bureaucracy.
Military Veteran
-
Enlisted in the U.S. Army where I developed leadership skills, learned a foreign language, and traveled extensively in service to my country.
-
Honorably discharged after completing my active duty tour, reactivated after the 9/11 terrorist attacks for Operation Enduring Freedom, awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Intelligence Officer/Analyst
-
Transitioned from the military to working for the federal government as an intelligence officer focused on security threats in various regions in collaboration with multiple agencies.
-
Later joined the NYPD as an intelligence analyst, where I worked on a team that coordinated its efforts with multiple state and federal agencies.
Mother & Family Member
-
Faced with the reality of child care costs, I turned down opportunities to excel in my career field and devoted myself to the full-time care of my young children.
-
Ultimately moved our young family back to my home state of New Hampshire, where my husband and I discovered and fell in love with Concord's vibrant downtown, tree-lined parks, and community neighborhoods.
Community Volunteer
-
As a stay-at-home mom, I stayed active in the school community by developing free or low-cost events for students at Christa McAuliffe School.
-
Served as a Board Member of the Friends of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, creating free or low-cost events to draw the community to the site of the trail.
-
Worked extensively with the Concord Police Department to further develop their Bike Rodeo, where children learn bike safety skills and some receive a free bike and helmet.
Administrative Experience
-
Overseeing administrative functions as an Office Coordinator for Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care Alliance of NH and the current Administrative Assistant for the Concord Public Library Foundation (CPLF).
-
Ensuring communication among members and the public through database management and analysis.
-
Filing, bookkeeping and organizing materials for easy resource recovery.
